Donations
There are a number of ways in which you can financially support the Parish at St James.
Regular Donations
Cash collections are very time-consuming for the parish because coins and notes have to be counted every week and then taken to the bank. Our aim is to replace as much of our weekly cash collections with payments by monthly standing orders which makes it more convenient and safer for you.
You can set up a standing order yourself via your Bank's App or Website or even fill out our standing order form which should be returned to the Parish Office. Our bank account sort code is 60-08-14 and our account number is 13204297. Use OF and your surname as the payment reference.
If you do not wish to donate online, you can opt to receive gift aid envelopes which should be put into the offertory collection each week.

Gift Aid
If you are eligible please help us to reclaim income tax on your donation by completing a gift aid declaration and returning it to the Parish Office. Our Gift Aid co-ordinator will supply you with a payment reference number which needs to be quoted in online donations.
If you are a UK taxpayer (income tax and capital gains tax) then we can reclaim the tax you pay on all donations you make. For example if you donate £1 then the parish would receive a further 25p from HMRC. It does not cost you any more but you do have to be a UK taxpayer and must have signed a GiftAid declaration.
If you pay tax at the higher or additional rate, you can claim the difference between the rate you pay and basic rate on your donation. Do this either through your Self Assessment tax return or by asking HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to amend your tax code.

Make a Bequest to St James
If you would like to make a bequest or a large gift to St James we will ensure your donation will be put to good use in the parish. Regular bequests have helped to transform our finances and allow us to invest in the church infrastructure and facilities. Please contact the parish office on 01689 827100 if you would like us to explain how the process works.
